💗 A COMMUNITY UNITED: HYPE CURRUMBIN BREAST CANCER FUNDRAISER

At Hype Currumbin, community isn’t just a word we use — it’s something we live by.

Recently, our Hype family came together for a very special reason. One of our much-loved members, Shaz, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Like so many moments in life, this diagnosis came unexpectedly, but what followed was something incredibly powerful — support, love, and unity from an entire community.

Our breast cancer fundraiser wasn’t just about raising money. It was about showing Shaz that she is not alone. It was about standing beside her, lifting her up, and reminding her that she has an army behind her every step of the way.

The turnout, the messages, the donations, the hugs — it all meant more than words can express. Watching our members show up with such compassion and generosity was a reminder of why Hype is more than just a gym. It’s a place where people genuinely care.

💕 WHY THIS MATTERS

Breast cancer affects so many lives — not just those diagnosed, but families, friends, and entire communities.

In Australia:

• 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime

• Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women

• The good news is that with early detection, the 5-year survival rate is over 90%

These statistics are powerful, but when someone you know is impacted, the reality hits much closer to home.

One of the most important messages we want to share through this fundraiser is the importance of regular checks and early detection.

• Know what’s normal for your body

• Perform regular self-checks

• Book routine screenings when recommended

• If something doesn’t feel right — don’t wait, get it checked
