At Hype, we believe in recognising our incredible members for their efforts and making them feel appreciated.⁠ Our August Member of the Month goes to Macie.


Macie has been a member here with us at Hype since she was at High and 15 years old. We all have had the priviledge of watching you grow into such a beaufiul, confident and amazing young woman.Macie comes into the gym 4 times per week completing her own strength training and participating in Monday’s yoga’s class to help with mobility.

Macie- I’m a bubbly, fun, energetic person. I love the gym, beach and enjoying quality time with family and friends. Also make sure I revered time to spend doing personal growth in myself and ensuring I take a moment to relax.

I often come to gym 4x a week, being able to set aside time for gym is the highlight of my week. Goals for my fitness journey this year are to keep myself motivated, and progress in strength training. Being able to come each week and add more weight is such a highlight. I also am looking forward to diving into my cardio this year too.Being apart of such a supportive atmosphere where your mental, physical and emotional grow is so special. Having staff constantly encourage my health journey and having friends to look forward to seeing, it gives me so much motivation being part of the Hype community for years now is a privilege.

Hype- Congratulations Macie on this recognition, we all love having you part of our Hype family, we all see your dedication to your weekly training and how much you priortise your mental and physical health, you should be so proud of this Macie.
Everyone loves your chats at reception, your friendliness and we thakyou so much for all of your continual support towards Hype.

Zo has been training at Hype consistently for the last 2 years! She has been super involved in creating a surrounding community feel at Hype and adding to everything we preach. She is a powerhouse in classes and is super determined to doing 1% better every day. She attends early morning classes regularly and always puts in so much effort. We love that Zo will lend a hand to other members and help motivate those surrounding her.

We absolutely love being a part of her health and fitness journey and supporting her with her goals. We adore little Evie and watching her grow since she was a tiny little one.

Zo-
I'm Zo, 35 and mum to a gorgeous 3 year old who's been coming to Hype creche since she was about 9 weeks old! I grew up dancing competitively, and come from a pretty active surfing family, so fitness and keeping an active lifestyle has always been a big part of my life. I started going to the gym when I was about 17, and have been doing group fitness classes ever since!

I do group fitness classes at hype, you'll find me there for the 5am classes before my little one wakes up and I need to get to work! I am so grateful for the community doing group fitness brings. I've never seen a community like this before! It helped me push myself out of my comfort zone postpartum when I was carrying a heap of extra weight, and struggling with post-natal depression. It helped create a support network to keep turning up, and prioritise me, and have a whole lot of fun along the way.

I also love the variety group fitness brings - I do abt, grit, combat, pump, strength, circuit, balance, journey all in a week! I aim to get here 6 days a week, but those with children know that's not always possible! I train for my mental health more than anything else, so it's really important to me to get out of bed and get my training done consistently.

I love the community vibe, the members are fantastic, so supportive, encouraging and I have made some good friends out of being a member at Hype! All of the team are amazing too - so caring for my girl in the creche (and outside of it too to be honest!) and so incredibly friendly and supportive to my husband too and I too.

For me, walking in with a newborn 3 years ago, terrified and thinking I could never step foot back in a gym, could never have imagined to have found a gym and community as amazing as what I did at Hype - I love it here!

This year I have a goal to eat more nutritious food (and just more in general), to take care of my health but also to be a good role model to Evie on what a healthy relationship with food looks like and that fuelling your body is important. I have recently started nutrition coaching with Huia for this reason!
