CURRUMBIN:
At Hype, we believe in recognising our incredible members for their efforts and making them feel appreciated. One of our February Member of the Month goes to Brendan.
Brendan-
I’m 53 years old and a Gold Coast local since 1981, originally from Roma in South West Queensland.
I went to local schools and now run my own small plumbing business. From time to time, I also help out the Hype team with plumbing maintenance around the club.
Alongside keeping fit at Hype, I enjoy my coaching role at the Tweed Seagulls Rugby League Club. My two sons also train here at Hype — working hard to try and keep up with their dad (lol).
Hype has played a huge role in my shoulder recovery following surgery in March 2025, and it’s almost back to its best. I’ll keep showing up and training hard so I can keep my two boys honest… or at least try to.
When in doubt, always turn up.
HYPE-
Brendan has been with us at Hype for nearly 3 years, he also has his 2 sons come in and train too. We value his commitment to training always working so hard out on the gym floor and working through his injury and keeping fit. Brendan is always out on the gym floor helping others, and having a chat showing his support.
Congratulations on a well earnt award for being member of the month. Keep smashing your workouts and we are super proud of your achievements so far. We also appreciate you helping us with our maintenance in the club!
Cheers Hype Team!
PIMPAMA:
At Hype, we believe in recognising our incredible members for their efforts and making them feel appreciated. Our February member of the month goes to Tracey + Steve!
These two are double trouble. We have Tracey who is a powerhouse coming in to do weight training and classes. We will find her often in a Body Combat and when she isn’t in class, she will be on the gym floor following her gym program or getting her steps in. Tracey is super hard-working and we value her willpower to overcome any challenge she faces.
On the other hand, we have Steve who loves to cycle indoor and outdoor and has recently jumped on board to take on strength training! We absolutely love his commitment in trying different aspects of training and giving it his all. His passion for fitness is inspiring, and Hype is super proud of his achievements so far!
Training together not only boosts motivation, but it makes your sessions more fun and even more rewarding. Thank you for being such great role models and we value your support to Hype 💚.
Tracey & Steve-
35 years married, three married children, and one beautiful granddaughter 💛.This is the third state we’ve lived in, and we’ve called the Gold Coast home for the past 10 years. Staying active has always been important to us, not just for fitness, but for quality of life as we get older.
Steve started his fitness journey years ago so he could stay active and involved in our children’s sports when they were younger. These days, he keeps moving through road riding and training at the gym 2–3 times a week. He enjoys the Journey classes and has recently started spending more time on the gym floor, with a focus on maintaining his weight and building upper body strength.
Tracey began group fitness many years ago to stay fit and healthy, and the gym has become just as important mentally as it is physically. It’s a place to switch off from work and life, focus on training, and reset. Tracey has been training on the gym floor for around five years and has worked with Huia for the past two years, gaining valuable support with both training and nutrition. She trains six days a week, with goals centred around consistency, mindful nutrition, listening to her body, and remembering to rest when needed (even though that part isn’t always easy!).
What we love most about Hype is the community. The timetable works well, the equipment is always well cared for, and the members are friendly and down to earth. The staff and group fitness instructors are incredibly supportive and genuinely make the gym a place we enjoy coming to.
We’re grateful to be part of such a positive, welcoming community and proud to keep showing up, staying active, and being the best versions of ourselves 💪
